The start of a packed long weekend. E and I are off work today to travel to Ludlow, though most of the day was spent in Coventry clearing up/out the student house - which means the car is now full of everything from walking boots to heavy tomes on University Physics.
We'd visited Ludlow briefly before when staying with friends in this area. Despite the dreary wet weather at the time we liked the place and marked it down for a return visit. It has hills.
It also has a rather nice colletion of buildings including a castle and some wildly old timber frame buildings. The carving on these is just incredible - not to mention the absence of anything like a right angle.
We met up with our friends Jan and Elisabeth for a meal at small French restaurant which was excellent. It was nice to be in easy walking distance of some great architecture, restaurants, the river and the B&B.
