The Gregynog Illusion

An afternoon visit to Gregynog estate near Tregynon, Mongomeryshire for a walk around the woodland. I was hoping for golden light filtering through the trees but it was all gloomy and grey so my blip is of Gregynog Hall instead. Built in the 1840s to look like a typical black and white timber-framed farmhouse, it is actually made of concrete cladding and is one of the oldest concrete buildings (now in need of significant restoration). It was once home to the famous Davies sisters who amassed a very significant art collection and established the Gregynog music festival.
