At Sea

I slept well as I find the rocking motion of the ship very soporific and luckily it was an exceptionally smooth crossing. We skipped breakfast and went for the posh restaurant lunch with all you can eat starters, a main course of your choice and all you can eat desserts and cheeses. As the chefs on Brittany Ferries are French it was all delicieux and needless to say we got our money’s worth! That said we retired (gingerly) to our cabins and spent the rest of the day in a food coma.
My digital detox meant that I read two books (well…finished one) The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’ Farrell and Orbital by Samantha Harvey. We’re driving from Portsmouth to Surrey now to spend a couple of nights with our nephews. I’ll catch up with journals in the morning.
