Preparations
A stop off at Brockholes, the HQ of the Lancashire Wildlife Trust, for a mooch around and lunch. There is maintenance and management work going on around both meres, to make sure the reserve is well prepared for the Spring season. It has to be done when the impact on wildlife is of least concern, which is now. Which is why, on a gloomy grey day, things were a bit quieter than I was expecting, although I still enjoyed the walk.
I took this from the Infocus shop, which is now housed in the Look Out (extra). I wondered why the shop was no longer at Martin Mere, WWT high ups decided that they would sell optics themselves, which was not a good decision, Infocus staff know their stuff. The chap showed me some pics he had taken by shooting with his phone through his telescope. Quite remarkable.
