Back in Blighty

Start: Strasbourg, France - Finish: Chelmsford, UK.

We left Strasbourg around 9am and arrived at Dunkirk just in time for the 16.00 ferry. The photo, taken from the front salon at 17.30 was, I feel, an appropriate greeting to Blighty.

From Dover we drove to Chingford, (London) to deliver the ex-Turkish street dog Babe to her new English forever home family. Traffic in London, of course, was intense at this time and it was after 8pm before we were on our way again, destination Chelmsford. Traffic was solid crawl on the North Circular, but A12 cleared as we put London behind us.

My brother had no idea I was coming but was at my place for Harry Cat care and it was a bone crushing cuddle when he answered the door about 90 minutes later :)  Rufus, recognizing where we were was super happy. Mark and I were super tired, but still managed to have a couple of cans of Adnams Ghost Ship while Gareth finished his wine before bro went home,  Mark crashed for the night before driving up North tomorrow to see family and I slept with Rufus and Harry for the first time since last April

Tomorrow, when I've had a good night's sleep, I'll fill in the missing back Blips of our journey in the last four-five days. I've taken photos but haven't been able to upload whilst on the move with no internet in Europe.
