Disappearing Dog
Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny and The Mini Princesses,
I went to visit Mary Doll and Victor today. Mary Doll is anxious about her surgery next week and was very quiet.
Murphy, being the emotionally intelligent dog he is, sensed this and decided to provide a distraction in our walk…by disappearing…twice!
I had to chase him round someone’s garden as I could see a way out onto the road. I put him on the lead and then we had a complete stand off about 10 minutes later as he refused to move and kept flicking his head until he escaped from his collar. He bolted up a verge and I found him underneath an old apple tree about to claim his prize of a half-rotten apple. There was a lot of internal swearing as I’d had to walk through lots of nettles and had also ended up with twigs in my hair!
Victor thought it was hilarious and properly belly laughed when we came back and told him. Murphy once again used his emotional intelligence and determined that Victor was definitely on his side about the whole ‘misunderstanding’. He then curled up for a sleep at Victor’s feet looking like butter wouldn’t melt. Disappearing is very tiring!
