Last day in Montenegro
Today was our last proper day of holiday. We leave here after lunch tomorrow and head back into Croatia overnight - ready to fly from Dubrovnik on Wednesday morning horribly early!
This morning we decided to head back to Herceg Novi, again opting to take a taxi in, rather than toil up the very long and uneven path up to the main road.
We were there in no time and after wandering around for a while and picking up a couple of small presents for the girls we headed back to our nice cafe in the square for some fresh lemonade. We only stayed an hour or so then headed back on the very busy bus in time to catch the end of lunch time at the hotel.
This afternoon we headed for the sea and I did a 200m return swim between the jetties which I was pleased by.
We're packed up now as we have to be out of our room by 10am. We then have almost 5 hours before the bus comes to pick us up, we'll work out how to fill that in the morning.
Today's collage shows: a flight of very steep steps down the hill to the harbour at Herceg Novi. All streets apart from a couple running along the side of the hill are at that angle! The fountain is in the square where we sat, people were coming and filling their bottles from one of the taps on each side. I spotted the Dukat in a jewellers, the price seemed very low for such a piece of history, Emperor Franz Josef died in 1916, having done some research though apparently they are still being minted! I couldn't resist including a last beautiful sunset from our room. The final image, bottom left is a submarine tunnel.
I don't think I've mentioned those, but on the shore opposite us are three concealed submarine tunnels built by the Republic of Yugoslavia in the 50s during the cold war. You can read more about them here.

Quite fascinating.
We've had a wonderful stay here in Montenegro, but tomorrow the journey home starts. The weather has been surprisingly wonderful, I fear we won't be lying in the beach in Edinburgh next week!
