Apart from a trip to Barrow to see Stu for a coffee this morning, today has been mostly about trying to download a copy of the script for “Made in Dagenham” to my phone so that I have more of a chance of working out when scene changes should take place.
I think it is fair to say that last night’s tech run was a bit of a disaster from that point of view, not helped by the Town Hall staff booting us out at 10pm sharp, even though we were still a couple of scenes from the end at that point! Let us hope we can get all the way through the show at tonight’s dress rehearsal.
A consequence of trying to download a script last night was that the link I was sent used up pretty much my entire data allowance for the month - and still didn’t fully download even then. By using WiFi and my home PC, I now have a version loaded on the phone that requires no internet connectivity so I can turn off mobile data to preserve what little allowance I have left. If I don’t do that I know I’ll just get bombarded with loads of unimportant WhatsApp messages. I’m sure I can catch up on them afterwards.
So I’m doing an early blip and I’ve had to resort to a photo of the Acer in the front garden. I know I’ve blipped it before, but it’s looking particularly fine this year. Though maybe not for much longer as the leaves will probably start dropping any day now, if the other trees and shrubs are anything to go by…
