Sunbeams

Dinan

Dinan is a wonderful old walled medieval town above the River Rance. It used to be the capital of Brittany.  Some of the buildings date from the 13th C.  We are staying in a little terraced house just around the corner from E's sister-in-law and just outside the town walls.

Today we visited the market, full of wonderful fruit and veg and food stalls as well as clothes and bits and pieces.  Extra photo is of a basket maker who had his baskets for sale while he was hard at work.  He only uses natural colours for weaving.

J has been feeding us with lovely home-cooked food - and always three courses.  We are being spoiled!  My spoken French is slowly coming back as I am ashamed to say I was once fluent many decades ago!
