Alice's 50th

The train from Bjdapest to Prague is wonderful. Free water, coffee and mint tea. Practical Magic fills the time.

I find Megan and we grab the first train towards Marianske even though it's delayed. At Plzen we get the train to Marianske, which is also delayed.

Panel meets us, but Nick got off a stop too early. Nvm - Pavel drops us at the accommodation and fetches him from the other station. We shower and head to the party. Lots of nationalities, loads of food, a free bar. What's not to love. Except, perhaps, trying to guide some Airbnb guests to my house from around 2000km while they are in the dark and rain.

Too many strange conversations with people I past spoke to in 1990. Too many half grasped exchanges with people that i don't share a common language with. Too much cake. Just enough dancing.

I do like parties where you know only a fraction of the attendees.
