When in Yorkshire ...
... you must eat Yorkshire puddings! As a separate course, with gravy. This was a true British meal. We followed them up with a small but perfect fillet of Scottish beef, roasted rare, served with carrots gently braised with rosemary from the garden, and proper new potatoes with mint. Then cheese: Wensleydale, Cheddar, and oatcakes. And finally, Bakewell tart, made by me, with home-made custard.
S bravely made the Yorkshires -- his mum makes the best in the world. His didn't surpass hers, but they were excellent.
