Flower Friday. : : Dried Roses

Caroline came at 8am so we had to be on our game to get up and reasonably presentable by then. We're always the former but often not the latter. We had to forego the Morning Reading but John deserves a break once in awhile and if fit in with the general news blackout. What on earth can we do to prevent Elon Musk from giving away $1M /day to some random Republican who registered for something or other....the man is brilliant at building rockets and Teslas so he thinks he knows everything....

I think it's probably illegal, but the election will be long over by the time the government bureaucracy grinds through the process of deciding.

We left Blake, who is much more himself but still has a hard time getting up, with Caroline and took Spike with us to Trail House. A woman we see there quite often came in with her husband and loves Spike. She asked if she could give him a treat and when I said yes she went out to her car and came in with a whole bag of treats and proceeded to give him enough to count for his dinner. He then proceeded to beg for more, so we had to put him in the car. But he will remember....

I tracked Dana's phone to Torres del Paine, Chile, an almost completely roadless place with her icon surrounded by a big circle. It says, 'Dana is somewhere inside the circle'. Good to know. In a few days it will be back to Santiago and another flight up to the Atacama Desert.

Two 'accomplishments' today.

1) I got out the sweater project I have started and abandoned about four times and restarted it again, vowing not to start another project until this one is finished.

2) I got back on the Peloton, abandoning the thought of the Col de Galibier and going instead with the lovely Sam Yo (former Buddhist monk with a Superman tattoo on his bulging bicep and a lovely smile) and his 'autumn recovery ride', which was just right.

There was a lovely pale pink sunrise this morning and it was quite cloudy and cool but it warmed up in the afternoon, so another pleasant day. Hard to complain about the weather, even though we need rain pretty soon.

We've been rewatching 'The Diplomat'  on Netflix. It's implausibly entertaining, made more entertaining  with Blipper Booky_Goatherd's comments from the diplomatic perspective.
