Angels, St Tanwg, Memory Lane Again, Sunset

Another full day, our last of this short break as we come home tomorrow.

After another café breakfast we had a mooch around Harlech as a (junk) shop that we'd wanted to look around was open today! I nearly bought a pair of glass mermaid candlesticks. It rained a bit but we couldn't complain as it had been pretty nice all week. I thought the main blip of a shop window might fit the bill for a Derelict Week offering.

We just had a cake and a drink for lunch and then set off for Barmouth. We'd both been before, but mrsfb couldn't remember when, for me it must have been 45 years or so ago. So as with Criccieth we couldn't remember much about it. I did recall the railway bridge so have put it in as an extra. It looked to be in better condition than I remember all those years ago. The weather had improved a lot by then too, sunshine again, so that was good.

On the way to Barmouth we stopped at Llandanwg Beach and had a look at the tiny 13th century church of St Tanwg. I got some nice shots of the outside but liked the inside shot too.

We managed to find some fish and chips in Barmouth. Most places were closed but the one we found was heaving. We were lucky as we got there just before a mega queue formed.

Back in the apartment now where we just had a lovely sunset. I got a shot though the window, with the castle wall on the right.

The big question now is should I put myself through the pain of watching Pompey's match tonight, or should we just try the pub up the road for a farewell drink?

By the way, I forgot to say yesterday that although we didn't see any red squirrels, we did spot a red kite. The NT guide seemed really excited, we were rather blasé, we see them so often now at home, even circling over the garden sometimes.
