Gladiators Ready!

We’ve had another busy day starting with a look around the colosseum which is a pretty impressive place. We then got the open top bus to The Vatican where we were intending to just have a look at the outside and leave but we were accosted by ticket touts who managed to persuade us to pay for a tour and jump the queues. It all seemed a bit dodgy at first and I made the mistake of telling the children what we were doing who went into panic mode and ordered us to leave! It turned out fine though and we didn’t get mugged or scammed. In fact we had a very detailed tour of all of the Vatican museums, the Sistine chapel, the Basilica, St Peter’s Square and the crypt. It was exhausting but I’m glad we did it. We caught the metro back to our hotel where we had a quick change and are currently sitting at a table on the pavement enjoying a cocktail. It’s fun just watching the maniac drivers trying to avoid hitting each other.
