Five out of seven ain’t bad
Our last day, and the weather took a bit of a turn. To be fair, it was mild, dry and calm, but the sun didn’t show all day - it was just low cloud and mist. Mr PB took a pack lunch and headed down the coastal path, whilst I had a wander round the harbour here in Amble. I was reasonably confident I’d spot an Eider down there - after all, this is Northumberland! I wasn’t disappointed and this one obliged by coming quite close to the harbour wall. I was slow on the uptake with a fine Cormorant which caught a fish as I looked on but I got a decent shot of him anyway (extras).
After that, I caught a bus to Alnwick whereI had some lunch and spent an hour or so wandering round.
