Life is a Challenge!

IT'S AMAZING HOW MUCH PINK...

...you see when you are out and about!  We hadn’t intended going up to Jack’s again this week, but our friendly next door neighbour had given us more stuff precious things to take to our favourite charity shop, DEBRA, so we decided to take it up this morning, before the weekend.  I did have to stop Mr. HCB keeping any of the jigsaws - he has plenty!

After dropping it all off at DEBRA, we wandered along to Jack’s and were thrilled to see Keiran, a former employee, in there, so had a hug and a good chat with him.  I saw that Pila, one of the lovely waitresses, was wearing a tee shirt with “rhubarb” on the back and would you believe it, in pink?

I asked Keiran, when he brought our coffee, the significance of the word “rhubarb” when he said he didn’t have a clue, but knew rhubarb was lovely when it was stewed with custard!!  He obviously hasn’t lost any of his sense of humour!  I then managed to get a shot of the back of the tee shirt.

Just as Mr HCB and I were chatting, Julia, a very long-standing friend happened to come in to book a table, and ended up sitting with us for coffee and a chat - she was wearing a “raspberry pink” anorak, so “click” and another shot was in the bag - or should I say, the phone?

When Pila came round a bit later, I asked her the significance of the word on the back of her tee shirt and she said she had no idea - she had borrowed it from her daughter - almost as if she was meant to be wearing it today!  We hadn’t seen Pila before, so I blessed her with a little heart - of course, I did - and she was interested to know why I gave certain ones out and who I gave them to.  I told her that I gave them to all and sundry and although I bought them and wrote “Love, Joy, Hope and Peace” on them, I never know which one I will draw out of my pocket.  She seemed very interested and asked more questions, so I just said I like to bless people!

I knew I must have given one to our friend, and she confirmed I had several years ago, but it was a pink one!  I wonder why - it could even have been during BCAM.

A lovely morning made even better by all the conversations we had with different people.  We had lunch when we got home and then I went out for a walk - something I am going to try and do each day - we are fortunate to live in a lovely area and although there are lots of houses around, many of them have large and beautiful gardens, so it was good to be out and seeing the beautiful colours of the trees, and the flowers still blooming in the various gardens.  I used the “Walking PlayList” I made way back when the lockdowns started and really enjoyed walking along and singing - oh nearly forgot, I also blessed a very old Indian lady I walked across the road with - and I don’t count myself as that yet! So an even better day.

You know the drill by now - and we are now almost at the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month - please continue to CLICK on this LINK so that those in other countries who cannot afford to pay for a mammogram may have a free one.  You have all been amazing clicking every day - and remember, you can click several times a day.

I also want to thank all those who reassured and encouraged me yesterday after reading about my visit to the doctor - Blip is such an inspirational and encouraging place to be - and I’m glad to be a part of it.  M xx

P.S. Just so you know, and I'm sure you would want this reminder - in two months' time it will be CHRISTMAS DAY.  xx
