Life is a Challenge!

WHAT A CLASH OF COLOURS!

Hello Lovely Blippers,

As Mr. HCB just said, I am getting a lot of exposure this month, but that’s only because I’m pink!  However, I don’t really mind, because it keeps everyone informed about Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is no bad thing.  Interestingly, though, there were no leaflets in the waiting area about breast cancer - just lots about prostate cancer - which is quite surprising as October is ALWAYS BCAM!

Today, Mrs. HCB had to go and see her GP to get the results of her blood test and to see if she needed to go on statins.  This photograph was taken in the reception waiting area and I really was “Billy No Mates”!  Apart from Mrs. HCB and me, there was no-one else there as you can see.

You know Mrs. HCB, she had everything in a folder, and had printed off the results of blood tests from two years ago and up until the latest one.  The doctor said she was pleased to see that she was organised and Mrs. HCB told her it was her legal background!

They had a good chat - and I could hear everything, because I was in Mrs. HCB’s shopping bag!  The doctor said that Mrs. HCB had done really well following her back surgery and then getting off all her medication, but she felt that now, especially as even after losing 2 stone, her cholesterol hadn’t come down that much, she would recommend a statin.  Mrs. HCB asked if she could start on a small dose and the doctor was happy for her to do that and she will have another blood test, not in 6 months, as is usual, but in 3 or 4 months, to see if the tablets are working.

The doctor did tell Mrs. HCB that she had done very well and for her age,  not to be on any medication was amazing, but this could help prolong her life.  As Mrs. HCB said, she had thought about it long and hard, and had come to the conclusion that perhaps now was the time to do as the doctor recommended.  A prescription will be sent to the pharmacy, and no doubt Mrs. HCB will collect it after she has been to the Community Fridge.

We both apologise that the orange on the reception desk clashes with my pink-ness, but that really doesn’t matter, because we all know that PINK is the colour for BCAM, don’t we?  Anyway, the pink goes well with the blue chair!  You all know the drill too by now - please KEEP CLICKING on this LINK and this will help those in other countries who cannot afford to pay for a mammogram to have a free one.  Thank you so much.

We hope you have a great day - the sun is shining here and I understand that Mr. HCB is going to be working in the garden - where else?

Love to you all from
Reeth and Mrs. HCB xx
