Langinkoski imperial fishing lodge
Alexander III emperor of Russia and Grand Duke of Finlad was very interesting in fishing. In 1889 he had a fisher lodge built at the Langinkoski rapids. He and his family visited the lodge during many summers. He and his Danish born consort Maria Feodorovna and their children led a very simple life at their lodge. The empress loved cooking while he fished or spilt wood. The log house is now a museum.
