Life is a Challenge!

WHAT A LOVELY DAY! BCAM 2023 - DAY 24

I slept very well and didn’t wake until just before 9 o’clock, by which time, Mr. HCB had gone off walking with his friend.  However, the workmen were busy next door so it was quite noisy in our bedroom, so rather than lying in bed, I decided I would get up and have a leisurely breakfast downstairs.

Whilst eating my breakfast, I thought that the Cosmos, which I am now enjoying on the kitchen windowsill,  looked even prettier than the ones I took yesterday, so here they are again - and I’m sure I don’t need to remind you that you can click on this LINK to enable those who cannot afford to pay for a mammogram to have a free one!  Thank you again.

I had had a message last night from our Blip friend, Heidi, asking if we were about today as she was driving down from her Scottish trip and wondered if she could pop in.  We are always pleased to see her, so told her we were about this afternoon.  She messaged later to say she needed to be towed out of the farmer’s field where she had got stuck last night, so would let us know when she was on her way.

Her ETA with us wasn’t until after 4 o’clock, so because I felt very tired, I went back to bed at midday, with Mr. HCB promising that he would wake me after 2 hours, which he did.  Once up, I got a some bolognaise sauce out of the freezer and made some garlic bread, because I was sure Heidi wouldn’t have eaten, and then set about putting the new laces in my “go faster”  bright pink trainers - with Mr. HCB’s help, of course - see first extra!

Heidi was very tired when she arrived and I couldn’t resist taking a shot of her - see second extra - but as she said when she woke up, “It is tiring driving over 2,000 miles when you’re the only driver!”  Her gang, including a new member bought at Loch Ness, were quite happy to have a snooze by her side!

The third extra shows the beautiful gift of a scarf - all in my colours - bought in Scotland - but I won’t tell her that I noticed on the label it says “Made in China”!!  On top of that is a pack of Black Pudding, also bought in Scotland but made by Ramsay of Carluke, South Lanarkshire, Scotland - I bet they can’t make Black Pudding like this in China!

We have just waved Heidi off and I am ready to go back to bed, but it was so good to see her and to hear about some of her adventures.  Another lovely Blip friendship!
