Beijing Hutong

Day 9
Well what a day. First of all it took me a while to get going, so much communication, planning etc. I walked to the Lama Temple, , through the Hutong area, then to Drum Tower and Bell Tower. All interesting and busy, as you would expect.
I walked 14km, took the subway back to the hotel, had 30 mins rest, then walked 20 mins to visit friends. I hadn’t seen Manfred for 26 years, he is now over 65 with 4 kids age 7 to 14, and an amazing wife who works at the Swiss embassy in Beijing. It was so nice to meet them all. We had a lovely dinner, not that much time to catch up, but tried!
