Is that Gollum?

A walk through Riccarton bush today.  These tree roots reminded me of Gollum can you see his eye peeping out?  Pity he couldn't scare off the pigeons.
There are so many feral pigeons now, they nearly drown out the sound of native birds, must be hundreds of them.  Kiwi are no longer released here because of them.
