Stretching oneself
I hope holidaying blipper Sally reads that the first act of this morning - not on my part, I hasten to add - was for Himself to shove on some clothes and take the wheelie recycling bin out to the front for the bin men to empty. It was with considerable satisfaction that I head the lorry as I was dressing; it was fairly scooshing along the crescent because as far as I could see ours was the only one out for them. Result! (It was too full of cardboard to leave for a further three weeks).
Pilates class this morning was still depleted by the October holidays - either because of holidaying or of child-care of grandchildren without school. We started off in a condition of great hilarity; I'm afraid much of that was caused by me and our teacher assured us all after a particularly arduous bout of stretching that that was what happened when I disrupted the class (cue more laughter). I was completely floored by the end of the hour, but the endorphins were buzzing.
Himself and I both fell into torpor after lunch, so it was well after 3pm when we decided to go out. I needed more eye drops (the preservative-free artificial tears are all I dare use these days) and buy them from the optician. We stuffed them into pockets and went for a walk to Kirn along the promenade that featured among the waves of yesterday's blip; the tide was as high as when I took that photo from my window, so I spent what was probably an irritating amount of time trying to capture the best moment as the sea curled up against the curved face of the promenade. I was quite pleased with that one that is today's photo. We called in at the supermarket on the way home to pick up some lemons and staggered up the steep hill wondering if all this exercise was as good for us as we thought ...
That's it, really. Tomorrow I'll need to check my travel insurance (shhhh) but tonight's excitement is that there is a large spider in the bath. I wonder if Himself has noticed - that's his job!
