The Beresford
Decided to take my picture early today as I wasn't sure the nice sunshine would last (and it hasn't).
Back to architecture today. This time its Art Deco.
The Beresford was first built for the Empire Exhibition in 1938. Previously the stonework was more of a mustard colour and with the red fins it was described as rhubarb and custard architecture.
Although not that high, it was in its day considered to be something of a 'skyscraper'. It has had several uses throughout the years, and since its latest refurbishment has become luxury apartments.
I've always liked this building and since they freshened it up, it really stands out in the bright light.
