St Monans

The calm before the storm - literally.

First thing it was wet and miserable but Mrs AMK was determined to go down to the East Neuk with our son G on his short visit and we also knew that a potentially nasty storm Ashley was on its way later,

The afternoon brightened up and we visited our favourite Farm shop then headed for the harbour at St Monans. The tide was just coming in and the harbour was peaceful but we bumped into the Harbour Master who was checking on the moorings of a small boat that he was concerned about with the storm due in a few hours. It can be seen in the extra which shows the harbour view looking inwards and apparently last year storm Babet caused a lot of damage around the harbour.

As I am posting this blip later in the evening the wind is raging outside and it will do for a few hours yet according to the forecast. G remarked that yesterday he saw lovely Scottish Autumn weather making him feel nostalgic but today reminded him why he was often glad he had left for the States. !!
