LIFE!!!

Time to photograph the beautiful maple leaves before Storm Ashley blows them all away.

It took ages to get light this morning, I think it rained quite a bit last night. I read my book ("The Plantagenets" by Dan Jones) and waited to see what the weather would be like. Jess and I had planned to go on a beach walk with Linda, Fi and Archie, but storms make me want to hunker down and try not to listen to the trees swishing around, ready to drop their limbs. I told Fiona I'd not be coming and she and Linda went to Threave instead of the beach and had a lovely time, and the wind never really got up until teatime, so I could have gone, but hey ho, I got some baking done, and more knitting, and some other indoor tasks. I even went for a walk, and listened to a podcast about the battle of Agincourt.

There was some roaring of wind around the house at about 6pm, but I concentrated on making a nut roast instead. We shut the curtains and lit the fire. Hopefully the storm will have passed over by the morning with no damage done.
