A Wild Day with Storm Ashley
SUNDAY
What a day it’s been!
Storm Ashley made a dramatic entrance much earlier than predicted, bringing wind gusts of 50-60 mph and has kept it up for most of the day. As I write this at 7 pm, the storm is still in full swing. Unusually however, it's been relatively dry, sunny and mild.
Ashley's early arrival caught me off guard so I was outside in my pyjamas to rescue the hanging baskets. This afternoon we managed to squeeze in a short 1 km walk around the village - It was a battle to stay upright at times.
Craving more exercise, I decided to challenge myself to a 5 km run down to the broken Llanerch Bridge over the River Clwyd and back. The wind was an interesting partner, in my face on the way down, but providing a gusty tailwind on the 2.5 km uphill slog back home. I was happy to complete the 5 km in exactly 00:29:30
