Strange Retail
Today was very overcast with consistent downpours so rather than strike out to any 'far flung' destinations for the day we headed into town for a quick poor meteorological outlook compensatory pint and the chance to try to capture some retail based images.
On this particular occasion, after our liquid based encouragement, I wanted to look for something different and the shop window displays and signage seemed happy to oblige on this occasion. My main image is the front of a cosmetics shop with the odd tagline of "Keep it Strange", which turned out to be promoting their Halloween range including "Lord of Misrule" shower gel, "Ghostie" bath bombs, "Alien" bubble bars and "Demon in the Dark" soaps.
My first extra is on the even stranger looking side with a sign outside an 'aesthetics medical spa' promising, alongside a multitude of other treatments, something called "body rejuvenation" advertised by a floating head embraced by disembodied arms and hands! I must admit I have added to the weirdness by shooting my image though some streetside foliage and including a few rather menacing appearing shadows.
My last image is altogether more cheery and is part of the window display of an outdoor clothing and equipment shop with its plethora of wonderfully exuberant wellington boots. I did get my focus point a little bit wrong for this shot as it has concentrated on the rippled plastic covering on the window instead of the footwear itself but it does, albeit completely accidentally, give the impression that the boots are on the march!
