AT THE MATCH

Newcastle had a home game this afternoon against Brighton.  Kick off was at the traditional time of 3pm.  I got into town early and spent some time in the Eldon Square Indoor Shopping Centre.  Looked but didn't buy.

Took my blip shot just before kick off.  As you can see the weather was lovely.  Really bright sunshine.  A crowd of 52,200 settled down to watch the match.

Newcastle started off really well.  Some good performances and attacking play - but the ball just wouldn't go in the net. After 35 mins - against the run of play - Brighton scored out of the blue.  The second half was more of the same...Newcastle trying hard but getting nowhere.  In total, Newcastle had 21 shots and 60% possession - but they failed to take their chances. Final score Newcastle 0 Brighton 1.

Newcastle have not lost at St James' Park since mid-January - and     the last time they failed to score at a home game was back in May 2023.  Hopefully there's no need to panic and some goals will come in the next match.  Fingers crossed.

I did some food shopping in Tesco after the match and then got a bus home.  Got in the house around 7pm.

Its Beckys birthday today - shes 42,  We were going to have Whatsapp video  call but by the time I got home it was too late as Becky was putting Astrid to bed and then having her evening meal.  So we are going to do it tomorrow.  Ive added a couple of photos as an Extra..  One is of Becky and me on her first birthday and the other is from today - taken at the Seaford Beach Parkrun this morning.  Becky and Mike both ran it... Mike pushed Astrid around in her special running buggy.
