Housing A Lifebuoy Castle, Rochester

It was a slightly strange start to the day as it started off sunny and bright but by the time we headed out for our daily run the fog had descended and the temperature had dropped. Soon enough though the sun re-appeared so we decided to make the short trip over to Rochester for a walk around the town and a chance to try and capture our shot each for the day. We had a really relaxed meander but I didn't really see anything until we were heading back to the car. Strangely I did not know that Rochester has a pier, albeit the short and stumpy variety rather than the long and beautifully elegant. It happened to be open and that's when I saw the lifebuoy housing and thought it might work as a framing device for the castle. I knew the light was shining into my lens but luckily the polygonal reflection off the inside of the lens aperture sat perfectly within the composition -  serendipity of the photography kind!
On the way back home we stopped off at the Red Bull in Eccles for our usual Friday lunchtime drink. Lovely!
