Bearded Reedling...

An extremely foggy start to Friday! Really thick and took a good few hours to clear which made for a very atmospheric morning to go for a walk!  And I soon discovered that my walking boots weren't entirely waterproof!

But I had a wonderful little wander at the local nature reserve - a lot more to see than I thought I was going to see, including a delightful family of 8 Bearded Reedlings which made my morning! Also spotted stonechats, avocets, lapwings, egrets, cormorants, herons, reed bunting, corn bunting and quite a few Red Admiral butterflies who seemed to enjoy when the sun finally came through!

Warm and sunny again now - seems like the calm before the forecast weekend storms... stay safe everyone!
