A Quiet Evening

I finally got the kids settled into their beds, their headlamps blazing through a few old marvel comics and Dennis the Menace. Once in a while one would call to the other to check if they were still awake. I would then settle in with my own reading, currently Light in August by William Faulkner, and then a sudoku puzzle before blowing the lamp out. Not a sound or shred of light. Ah, peace.
