High rise funghi
I struggled to get my 6k done with thoughts of the work in the garden. These fungi at the end of the track. The walk completed I picked up a punnet of chestnuts and later pulled thistles and shelled borlotti and cannellini beans. A dull, close in day. Cut the shells of the chestnuts in the hope they’ll dry.
It’s been a damper September and October, too little of that redeeming golden light after the burning summer. You’d usually say it’s the best time to be in central Italy but not this year. First time I’ve seen an explosion of little slugs and the increasingly annoying shield bugs. Dengue fever is also beginning to get a toehold- 100 positives in Fano in Umbria. The climate ain’t what it used to be, alright.
