Sleep apnea machine & glasses

This morning we were in Corbeil, as I had an appointment with the consultant for my sleep apnea machine. Apparently everything is OK, but they've suggested I change to a smaller mask, to eliminate the bloodshot eyes caused by air leaking from the bridge of my nose. Too much screen use probably doesn't help either. A technician will visit on Friday to suggest a new size.

After that, back to our village, to the optitians, just across the way from the local Lidl. It has been 4 years since I started wearing glasses. So it was about time I changed them. Unfortunately in France you need to see an eye Doctor first. Locally it can be a long wait for an appointment. Unlike the UK it isn't the optitians that does the eye test. So prescription in hand we went to look at new frames. Mme MB will have to have prescription glasses for work.

I've decided to get integral plastic frames, rather than metal ones like I have now. Without little ajustable feet for the bridge of your nose. Mine have long since fallen apart. Added to which the top of my frames is coming adrift.

Another ker-ching moment... It ain't cheap. We're hoping the mutuelle ill cover most of it...

The photo is of a building half demolished, across the road from the clinic I went to in Corbeil earlier. This used to be an employment agency. About 20 years ago, I went in there looking for work. They were of no help whatsoever.
