A Scarfie Drying out on Groyne5

After having been in the water every day while was resident in Stromness and then dipped each day when we were in Cullen last week, I was having cold water withdrawal symptoms but also dreading the long trek to the beach at Porty.
However it had to be done and this morning was as good as any to make myself go. I joined 5 other BlueTits  for the immersion. The sun came out as if to make the journey worthwhile and I got a lift part of the way home which made for a speedier warm up.

The scaffolding has gone up outside the Dower House in order to better waterproof the balconies above me. It makes it tricky to get out of the door onto the patio and the garden but as I suspect it will take around 2 months to correct the drainage above and winter is nigh,I will just have to to go in and out of the communal door instead.

Unfortunately the first casualty, a broken pot, has already happened. I suspect it was a hammer thrown down from above that has comprehensively broken my nice blue pot containing my nice blue ceanothus. I might be able to glue it once the scaffolding has come down but I can’t reach it at the moment.

In Stromness a scarfie had take up residence on the grey buoy and now here is one on the Groyne 5 sign.
