Does anyone know what it is?

I'm not sure if we planted this or if it has sown itself, or even if it's a weed. It looks quite big and strong as if it's a genuine plant and is in a spot where we might have planted it but neither of us can remember buying it. At the moment I am calling it the splash plant because I think the flower looks like the crown that you get around a splash. Even if it's a weed it can stay because I think it's quite pretty but I would just like to know what it is.

My car went into the garage for a diagnostic test to find out why the 'toxic fume filter warning light' is flashing, turns out that it is just the 'check engine' light and not really very serious at all (pesky French car manufacturers trying to scare me). The diagnostic test showed a slight misfire but couldn't tell what was causing it, so I can either pay a fortune for the mechanics to spend goodness knows how many hours looking for the fault or I can just drive it until the part finally fails - I'm sure you can guess what I opted for. Russian roulette driving - will it work this time or won't it, I know how to live dangerously ;-))
