Sunny Saturday

B & C got back from the airport at around 9 am and the house was less pulled together than I hoped as although I’d set my alarm for 6pm to tidy up both children were awake by 6.30 and a bit grizzly for having woken up too soon!  Leo didn’t want to get out of his cot so I just kept putting toys in.  

Hung out with them all for a bit but needed to get home as Anthony and Mum were coming to lunch.  V cooked a feast of a big chopped salad, salmon soup and panna cotta and raspberries.   It was a glorious sunny afternoon so Anthony Mum and I walked up to the woods and back.  The sun was low and so was a long skein of migrating geese which stopped us in our tracks.

At 6.15 V went out to look for the comet and despite first of all looking in the wrong direction he found it and called me out.  He took a good photo which I put up on instagram.  We may have missed the Northern Lights but we saw the comet! 

Good to be home.  Finished the Pat Barker The Voyage Home on the way and have now started the new Kate Atkinson as I needed something gentle.
