Blue Tit ( Cyanistes caeruleus )
I got up this morning thinking it is a long time since I did a bird blip I will take the easy way out and do a through the window blip. How wrong can you be. Very few birds in the morning and it was getting to late afternoon before I saw many. Then contrary to their usual habit they didn't perch in view they came out of the depths of the bush on to the feeder.
As you might expect Blue Tits fall into the "least concern" conservation category the fact they have around 3,400,000 territories each year is a clue. As you might expect for such a small bird they don't do much in the way of long distance movement, although there have been ringing recoveries from France and Scandinavia.
