Autumn walk

Had a lazy start to the day and then headed off for a walk.  Our first objective was much closer than we expected but we stopped for coffee and a piece of honey and banana bread.
We then plotted a longer circular route and set off armed with a bottle of water and a packet of scones.
The countryside was lovely and we had a peaceful walk with a charm of goldfinches ahead of us at times,  egrets, large beetles and noisy parakeets.  Several of the paths were closed due to ash dieback which forced us to go wider and further on our route. We got back to Polesden Lacey just in time to have coffee outside before it started raining. Did 16 km walk in the end.
Had a relaxing afternoon knitting a sock and listening to an audio book while S fell asleep in the giant roll top bath.
