Here there and everywhere

Casa Joana

When we lived in Sarria (and years beyond), Casa Joana was our Friday night dinner place and one of our favourite restaurants. We've had many great meals with family, friends and colleagues here - including our going away party when we left Barcelona in 2002 to go and live in Brazil.  Bb even wrote a short story based on the restaurants, the staff and customers  - Spinach with Cream/Espinacas a La Crema' and we blipped it when the restaurant framed the story and hung it on their wall:

Like most family places, it suffered during the pandemic and now only opens at lunchtimes Monday to Saturday. These hours don't suit us as we work during the week and often like a later lunch/early dinner on Saturday.  When I passed it today on Major de Sarria and went in to say hello, I noticed that they're in the process of changing their offering and will soon offer take-away dishes too. Good luck to them! I tried to book a table for lunch on Saturday, but it's closed as it's a public holiday!

I did marking and QAE monitoring in the afternoon.

I received confirmation of my work in Nov/Dec and then Jan-March for what I called the 'Tokyo Teens' marking project. There's quite a lot of work involved and may mean a wee change to something we've booked!

Dinner was meatballs and spinach a la catalana (with pine nuts and garlic). I have to admit it was home-made, but not by me. Nor by Bb either, but the shop along the road!  We're lucky to have a very good take-away nearby with home-made dishes.
