Ginger boy

I wonder what this cat is thinking ? ! He often sits on this wall and loves to be petted especially by children passing by and I thought he was going to walk along with his tail up for a stroke but he just sat and stared at me. 

I usually encounter him when I am driving down this narrow street and he has a habit of dodging across the road in front of cars - today I was on foot but in a bit of a hurry so it was a quick phone out and click.
