Trixie's Adventures

Off on an adventure

I've had a bit of a busy day today. First thing this morning Ann went for a swim with her friends. We got to Porthgwidden Beach 10 mins before everyone else because Ann wanted me to practise my swimming. I'm a very good swimmer but I don't like waves, so I rarely go swimming in the sea. However, next year Ann would like me to join her in the sea, so she says we've got to start practising now. She'd also like to be able to take me on a paddleboard but maybe that's a bit ambitious. Lol! Anyway. Ann threw my ball into the sea and I had to swim to retrieve it. She didn't throw it too far out because the sea was a bit choppy today and she didn't want me to get scared. She also interspersed throwing the ball into the sea with throwing it on the beach so that I knew it was a fun thing to do. I had such a good time. I'm becoming braver all the time.

Then I had a rest and lay and guarded Ann's stuff while she went for her swim. She only stayed in the sea for 20 mins today because she started to get a bit cold. Some of the other 'dippers & swimmers' had wetsuits/gloves/hats etc on. Ann didn't because she says she's a fair-weather swimmer and she won't be swimming in the winter apart from perhaps the boxing day swim.

Normally when we get home Ann jumps straight into the shower and then we have our breakfast. Swimming had made me very hungry so I asked for my breakfast as soon as we got into the house.

After breakfast Ann said, 'Trixie, it's a beautiful day, let's go off on an adventure.' We went to Praa Sands with the intention of walking to Rinsey Head and back. The path looks lovely and dry in this BLIP doesn't it? ..........It was. But the further we walked, the worse it became, until eventually we were just walking in mud. And it was that horrid, sticky, slippy mud. Very slippy mud. Both of us were slipping around all over the place. Yuk! So Ann said for health & safety reasons we had to abandon the walk. We turned around and walked back along the beach instead. Yay!

Instead of a two hour walk, we only walked for an hour, but because we'd both been swimming first thing, we still had to have a snooze when we got home. I'm still snoozing. Obviously Ann isn't because she's having to post my BLIP. I asked for early dinner because going off on an adventure made me hungry. Ann is yet to have her dinner.
