 I almost gave up
on this day until I saw
some sunshine appear

At 5:30 when I woke up the day looked rather grim.  I rolled back into bed and amused myself with email and Facebook until the light came up.
At 8 I drove across the bridge into the downtown and parked in Riverside Park to have a look from the end of the pier.

The city had planted specimen trees along the edge of the park some years ago. It always surprises me how fast they change colour in the fall. Today I was surprised how far the wind had scattered the leaves through the park. I was finding them hundreds of yards from the source.

I got my mountains with the sky brightening behind them. I could hear mechanical sounds beyond the railway bridge so my thoughts were there was work being done on the burnt Red Bridge. All the debris must be lifted out of the river and I imagine all the uprights left must be removed. No word yet on a possible suspect.

I picked up my breakfast on the way home. The weather has improved greatly already. I'm home for the rest of the day with my feet up.
