Reflected socks

I am working from The Isle of Wight and am disappointed that I didn't get out for a walk before starting work: looking at the sea is an excellent way to start the day.

The weather wasn't great for most of the day, but it alternated between drizzle and heavier downpours. The new balcony decking looks to repel water quite well. My socks seem to reflect nicely in the window.

By 6pm, we'd done our usual clean-up of the flat before returning to London. We managed to step outside just as the rain reduced, picked up some dinner in Subway (one of the most convoluted experiences possible), and then got mildly damp while walking to Pier Head.

The journey back was a bit difficult. Eating a Subway was messy on a train with no tables. Why do such South Western long-distance trains have no tables? Our train was marginally delayed arriving in Woking, but the delay was significant enough to miss the connecting train. We knew this would happen in advance, and I wonder why we rushed (we weren't the only ones). For ease, I would have stayed on the train to Waterloo and switched back up the line. PY found a later connection at Woking that would get us back a little faster and wanted to do that, but I wonder if the time saving was worth the effort and discomfort of standing on a platform for half an hour. I didn't think it was.
