Aurora

Yesterday's plan was to go and find some macro fungus to try some illumination.. After about 90mins of searching about in 3 woods I had not found any suitable, a photo of a blackbird which accompanied me along the path back to the car was all I had to show for muddy wet feet.
Last night was photo club, the first open competition of the year,  very enjoyable seeing what people had been up to over the summer. I didn't make the podium but got a commended & a highly commended for my efforts so I'm happy with that.
I had noticed aurora alerts earlier so stopped at the harbour on the way back just in time for a red alert on Aurorawatch. I've been trying to get a shot with the candlestick for a while but have been scuppered by clouds previously. This time I was in luck, although I didn't see any reds in the sky it was also great to get Ursa Major in.
Aurora trumps Blackbird in this case.
