Carvery

After the morning errands were completed, we went for Sunday lunch. We'd looked around and found that The Sloop Inn seemed to have availability, but we needed to find out if they were dog-friendly. We drove to Wootton Bridge, and PY went to check before we all clambered out of the car. They were, and there was space, so we settled in, and I went to the bar.

After I returned with the drinks, we placed a food order. Three of us were having the carvery and Phil was having a pizza. We wanted to time our visit to the cavalry to coincide with the arrival of the pizza. This meant second-guessing pizza cooking time and watching the line of people queuing for their Sunday roast.

In the end, we timed it just right. I had a slice of turkey and a slice of beef, and there was a fantastic set of accompaniments, which, of course, I loaded up. I thought I'd stacked my plate until I watched what other people brought back while we were sitting eating. It turns out that I have a lot to learn about balancing extra food onto the plate.

After we'd finished, we sat outside with a drink before heading back. We are not staying at the lodge tonight so we can be in the flat and ready for work in the morning. But we all wanted to use the hot tub one more time.
