Orchid care

Having treated orchids as a bit throwaway I am now working hard to try and make them flower again.  With limited success. I have read that they need soaking for 15 mins a week and feeding in the summer months.  These are certainly better and the leaves remain plump and green and these are new flowers on an old stem.  But there are still no new stems. 

Every time I stepped out the door in bright sunlight i got about a third of the way into a walk and heavy rain showers came.  Happened twice.  

Most of the day was spent looking at the entries for the RTS Editing award.  Which took ages!  I finally wrapped up at about 5pm and have at least eliminated half of the 48 entries.  Still it’s going to take a lot of discussion.  I hope we have some editors on the jury.  

Fast day so I had a simple supper.  V got back from teaching and we watched the first episode of Showtrial, written by a friend.   It was good with some really great performances from the leads.
