Heirloom plants
We live near a wonderful Mediterranean delicatessen and trattoria, where I often have coffee with friends. Today they were selling these tomato plants which are part of their family history, having been propagated from seeds brought to NZ from Capri in the 1960's. The plants come with strict instructions about light and warmth and are not able to be grown outside until mid November here in Wellington. So I will have the pleasure of nurturing them on the kitchen window sill for a month or so. Caprese salad to look forward to.
