The Final Countdown
A long day in the theatre today. 6+ hours for us actors, and even longer for the technical bods. We now need to ensure all the props, scenery, lighting and sound work as - and, more importantly, when - they should.
We did two runs this afternoon and evening, one in costume and one without. I think I am safe in saying that we actors are pretty much there in terms of lines and blocking and it is now down to the technical crew to come up to speed. Obviously, we’ve had weeks of rehearsals to get our lines right whilst the crew are having to pick it all up in a few days. But thus it ever was in amateur theatre, and I know it will all come good in the end.
Tech rehearsal tomorrow. No costumes required, but we will be mic’d up for the first time so that some initial levels can be set. Then we’ll have another night of “tweaking” before the Dress rehearsal on Wednesday.
It’s going to be a busy few days…
