The last of the potato crop

Over the past few weeks, we have been digging up potatoes whenever we have needed any. I'd like to use the vegetable plot for something different now, so this afternoon we dug up the remainder of the crop. Some of the smaller potatoes will be served with boeuf bourguignon for supper this evening. Also in the garden, I gathered leaves for the compost bin, and planted a few bulbs.

Earlier in the day, Mr hazelh accompanied me on my run, we received a visitor, and Mr hazelh, Mummy hazelh and I went out for afternoon tea. The visitor was Peter Wesley, the current owner of Mr hazelh's musician grandfather's bassoon. He was keen to meet us before we go to his concert at Doune rural hall in a fortnight's time on Sunday 20th October. Our afternoon tea was at the St Columba Hospice. We missed lunch in preparation for this treat. As a result of this, we devoured all the delicious sandwiches, scones and cakes in record time. 

Now it is time for me to head into the kitchen and sort out the beef and potatoes for our supper.
