Autumn

It took me a while to get going today but I did hand wash the woollens and make a short list of tulips for my Peter Nyssen order.

Ailie called round to pick up my Blurb book
of Ecuador and the Galapagos as she and Chris are going next month. She also borrowed some ramekins as she’s doing the walk supper pudding for 14 tomorrow. I’m doing potato and Cauliflower curry as it’s a curry night so that’ll be my own dinner if the meat-eaters don’t snaffle it first. Actually walk supper is a misnomer as since Covid the walking group no longer walks. It’s a supper club instead. Mr C, Ailie and I are the only walkers left though Katy still asks me to accompany her as the route-finder on the trig point walks she wants to do.

Someone said the red arrows would be flying over Rothbury at 3.55 so I took a walk up to the big rock at the moor to wait for them. I saw them they are too teeny tiny on the photos to use as a blip. They weren’t in formation anyway - they were in two groups. So here’s an autumn shot in the woods.

Mr C is looking into a trip to Algeria. We are too old for Young Pioneers, the cheaper option but he’s found Wild Frontiers go. Their Kazakhstan trip is no longer a goer so this sounds a good alternative and it’s not so far to travel.

Tonight we are going over to Alnwick to the cinema for “Lee” a film about the photographer Lee Miller.
